Ołtarz św. Jakuba (po 1423 r.)

Autor nieznany, drewno lipowe (rzeźby) i dębowe (szafa ołtarzowa i predella), wym.: szafa ołtarzowa 205 x 193 cm; wys. figur: św. Jakub 195 cm, Madonna 178 cm, św. Katarzyna 182 cm; predella 193 x 73 cm.

Rzeźbom Madonny i św. Katarzyny brak atrybutów. Św. Katarzyna prawdopodobnie miała miecz i koło. Jakuba.

The Altar of St. James (after 1423)

Unknown author, lime (sculptures) and oak wood (altar wardrobe and predella), dim.: altar wardrobe 205 x 193 cm; height of figures: St. James 195 cm, Madonna 178 cm, St. Catherine 182 cm; predella
193 x 73 cm.

The exact date of the construction of the Gothic altar is unknown. It must have happened after 1423, when the Winterfeld family obtained the right to build a chapel. The iconography of the building refers to the dedication of the chapel. There are three full-plastic sculptures in the centre. They are St. James, Madonna with Child and St. Catherine with the Emperor Maxentius at her feet, which emphasizes the victory over him. Sculptures of the Madonna and St. Catherine have no attributes. St. Catherine probably had a sword and a wheel. The altar cabinet rests on a painted predella with scenes from Traditio legis and Traditio clavis. In the center there is Christ giving St. Peter the law in the form of a scroll (Tradito legis) and the keys to the gates of paradise to St. Paul (Traditio clavis). On the sides there are St. James’ shells.
